A jam-packed All-School Gathering Monday. 2G is on a roll!
Perfecting the Fine Art of Carpet Rolling & Carrying
As of today:
Everyone’s now practiced with carpets at least once
All 3 groups are on video!
Two groups have been across the street to the gym (and back)
Excellent teamwork demonstrated all around
2G learned:
Best start rolling a carpet from one side rather than two
The longest side of a rectangle is longer than its shorter sides
Pushing wet noodles is harder than pulling them!
After we were done, we debriefed.
5 things we did well
We walked in straight lines
We didn’t fight
We didn’t drop the carpet in the middle of the street
We didn’t look at the dead toad (while crossing the street)
We didn’t talk (while crossing the road)
5 thing we could do better next time
Don’t argue
Everyone should carry carpets at the same height
Remember “the black line” (in the gym)
Don’t fight
Just “go with the flow” (instead of worrying about every little detail)
Can Vikings Learn to Be Kind?
In the Reading rotation, all students got a look at the first video skit, “Can Vikings Learn to Be Kind.”
Students learned that they CAN read lines assigned to students other than themselves. (If Bob isn’t in the reading rotation, Kai can read Bob’s lines and the world will continue to orbit the sun without calamity.)
“It Takes Real Courage to Be Kind” — song
The 2G singers are getting it!
Everyone’s got the words down.
We’re making real progress getting the timing right.
Fun!
Costuming
A chef’s hat and apron cam in this morning. Wyatt looked pretty cute as a chef!
Alas, we didn’t snap a photo.
But this evening, Jewel sent in two photos of Taylor in her new “news anchor” attire.
Enjoy!
