  1. As the chapter opens, Isabel is carrying Madam’s chamber pot. Later Isabel dumps the chamber pot and cleans it.

  4. Mrs. Lockton blames Isabel for her split lip: she accuses Isabel of letting wax fall to the floor, wax Ms. Lockton slipped on.

  5. Isabel listens to Lockton and his friends talk.

  8. Isabel wants to sail away. Curzon says it’s a bad idea to sail anywhere right now.
