SPRING BREAK: WE’LL ALL HAVE EARNED IT
Oh my!
What a day!
What a week!
What a month!
WE’RE SITTING IN… HULA HOOPS…
After almost 3 quarters… 2G has discovered that they’re sitting in hula hoops.
HULA HOOPS!
Yes, today was the first day that 2G thought to… hula hoop (verb).
INDEPENDENT WORK + DICTATION + SHARING
2G remains in the groove re. independent work.
Beginning next week, Daily Dictation will split into 2 random groups, one led by Ms. Erin and one by me.
We’re seeing a little over confidence in some (e.g., still not capitalizing the first letter in EVERY sentence and in EVERY name) and under confidence in others (e.g., hiding their sentences for fear of being wrong, but actually doing just fine), so this seems a good way to address the issues.
Katelyn (via Zoom) and Maxwell were up for sharing today.
CAN VIKINGS LEARN TO BE KIND?
Worry not, they can — and in our net video do so.
However, at the beginning, Sadie thinks they’re loud — and rude.
And Yoga Girl is not at all sure the Vikings can be civilized.
With clan leader Wyatt the Loud whipping up a frenzy amongst his warriors…
… one might be inclined to agree with Yoga Girl.
However, PreK — whom Dr. Cat at first thought were troubled by the “Fight! Fight! Fight!” chants — were actually asking Ms. Eveland if they could do this when they got to 2G!
THE LION & THE MOUSE
While 2G ran off their excess energy in PE — thanks Coach Pepper! —
— Ms. Wilks (HOS) and Ms. Bridgewater (Principal) reprised their Lion and Mouse characters from last year.
Amazingly, we pulled together an African set with ease. Ms. Bridgewater brought a table cloth from Kenya, we had an Organization of African Unity map in the classroom already, and Kealohilani (“Bright Heaven”) — 2G’s lion — got out of his COVID quarantine basket to grace the table. We also had two drums to show off!
And what about those mouse and lion masks?
Awesome!
IMAGINATIVE PLAY / FREE TIME
As always, 2G both needed and enjoyed their Friday afternoon Imaginary Play / Free time.
A few photographs should tell the story!
Onwards!
