“MINUS” METRICS


◼︎ Capitalization: (-1 point) for each missed instance

  • First words in sentences

  • Proper nouns: names, places, organizations, etc.

  • Names of God, specific deities, religious figures & holy books

  • Titles of books, days of the week

◼︎ Spelling of words in the text: (-1 point) for each missed instance

  • If the word you are spelling in your answer is in the text — you can look at it and copy it — it should be spelled correctly

◼︎ Spelling of words you have “Written 5 times”: (-1 point) for each missed instance

  • If the word you are spelling in your answer is one you have been practicing by “writing 5 times,” it should be spelled correctly

◼︎ Punctuation: (-1 point) for each missed instance

  • Periods, exclamation marks, question marks

◼︎ Answer is not a sentence: (-1 point) for each “non-sentence”

  • Answers must be complete sentences

  • A sentence is a “complete thought”
