PERSONAL NARRATIVE #2 • SEPTEMBER 11, 2025

Our process

  1. Brainstorming — students came up with 6 ideas for possible personal narratives.

  2. Selection — students selected one idea to work on; they saved the other 5 possibilities for another time!

  3. Planning — students blocked out at least 4 “scenes” for their story.

  4. Rough draft — aka, zero draft, first draft, scratch draft — using our Extreme Writing skills, students dived into their rough draft on scrap paper! We only write for 20 minutes!

  5. Final draft — Students determined what they liked in what they had, what they wanted to delete, what they wanted to change, and what they wanted to add. And then they wrote!

  6. Presentation — on 09.11.25, students read aloud their personal narratives

  7. Audience — listeners responded to presenters with at least 5 things they liked about what they’d heard for each personal narrative

Again, very impressive work!
