CHAPERONE NOTES
Dr. Cat will have a first aid kit medicines (Tylenol, Benadryl)
Bandaids for small cuts
Medicines (e.g., Tylenol, Benadryl)
All chaperones have access to emergency medical information
Please bring a flashlight (phone flashlights OK)
When hiking, move up & down lines of students
If students are not getting along, separate them
No child can be unaccompanied at any time
If you need privacy, please ask another chaperone supervise them
Please keep students quiet in the condo/hotel & public places
If a student needs to use a public bathroom, ensure an adult goes in first & does a safety check
“DROP” is our emergency signal
When signal given, students are to sit where they are & stop talking
Dr. Cat will assess what’s going on & get help if needed
Keep students calm & quiet, especially if something unexpected arises
Students are responsible for their own money & materials.
If a student loses a wallet or comes with no money, let Dr. Cat know
A loan can be arranged
Chaperones: please check rooms before we check out
Chaperones are the only ones to have keys
No room key for students
Each morning at breakfast we will meet & review the plan for the day
Let me know how your students are doing before we head out
Ideally, TVs are never turned on
Non-HNS chaperone: if a student is not listening to you, please ask a HNS teacher for help
