• Rescues — Not exactly “entertainment,” but we can watch the sometimes daily helicopter-rescue excitement from our deck as crews fly up the valley to find and haul out the wounded.

• Manana Trail — A fabulous hike. If you’ve got the time (the trail is rated “difficult”) and it’s not raining (making the train muddy, muddy, muddy), the views from the ridge at the end are spectacular.
