Anne’s dream came true! A young grizzly on Day 1!
While we did not see any nesting kolea from Hawaiʻi— a hoped for goal—we did we semipalmated plover and ptarmigan. (Look carefully amongst the rock to see the ptarmigan.)
We totally understand Chappy’s desire to spend as much time as he can far from civilization in the quiet backcountry.
