Who’s Who on Page 34?

Yoko is a new choir friend this year with whom Anne enjoys a cuppa tea. Yoko and Anne have adjacent plots in the columbarium at the Cathedral for the afterlife, so it’s good to get to know each other now.

Gavin (& Colin, not pictured) have been Tropics friends since 2013, when Tropics was over on University. As it’s been a while since we saw them, Gavin made Anne his rarely-made, over-the-top delicious margarita. Anne said it was so, so, so delicious.

Antlers

Danielle, our daughter-in-law, ordered the photo of Macau with his antlers. Macau will do choir robes and cute Christmas hoodies, but not antlers.

Yoshiko & Shige, our wonderful makai-side neighbors, gave us a ninja Christmas tree last year. We liked it so much we saved it amongst our Christmas decorations. This year it was joined by another wonderful tree. Yoshiko: “See the cat in the top hole?”

Dart frog

One of our dart frogs (reluctantly) allowed her/himself to be photographed, as it was Christmas! We provide water on a daily basis, but not, so far, any bugs. On the bright side (for the dart frogs) there are plenty of bugs to eat in Manoa.

The greening of the Cathedral

In addition to trying to keep up with the choir, Anne enjoys services and many other events at the Cathedral. Anne’s helped “green” the cathedral before, but this year was the first time for Cat. This year, we were responsible for helping to decorate the eight candle holders around eight of the pillars.
