Cat’s birthday

Cat’s 2G students are mad to know how old he is.

But it’s a 2G tradition that they can know only when they can subtract his (kept secret) birthyear from the current year. So far, three students have shown they can perform that kind of subtraction (e.g., 2025 – 1986 = x) and so have been provided with Cat’s actual birth year.

Those in the know — both in 2G and in the higher grades — enjoy keeping Cat’s real age a secret while simultaneously spreading disinformation: “52,” “74,” “Can you believe he’s 86?,” “People say he’s not in his 90s, but he is.”

Sienna, David, Anna, Tomas and Anne — cathedral choristers all — provide the best, most harmonically-complex rendition of “Happy Birthday” ever!

Nick was also extra melodious, but somehow avoided getting his picture taken. Anna’s cake design, which included frogs – Cat loves frogs (and geckos, and white terns) — rocked!

Pumpkin Festival

With COVID in full retreat, the school let the much-loved Pumpkin Festival run! Cat strummed his guitar and sang for 7 hours, repeating only one song (by accident)!

As Cat’s repertoire includes some current pop/dance numbers — Ava Max, Dua Lipa — some of the HNS students were heard to say, “Dr. Cat raps!”
